Joy of Painting Still Life
with SHAC resident artist, Kate Vella
Painting Floral Still Life
Embrace your creative side and learn to paint native and seasonal flowers in this fun and soulful workshop with SHAC resident artist, Kate Vella in Spud Lane Studios at the back of the SHAC.
Kate will start the day by sharing basic techniques for still-life painting with acrylics covering colour mixing, rendering vessels, and painting flowers from real life. After a delicious morning tea, you will work on a canvas to create your own original still life that you can take home and hang on your wall.

Meet Your Tutor
Painting has been my passion for many years but I’ve only recently started to exhibit and sell my work. Still life painting is what I love to paint.
I always find inspiration for my subjects from nature and in my home. I love sourcing fresh cut flowers from local florists or pick from my garden before painting. Landscape is also a subject very close to my heart.
I love to explore different media but I mainly work with acrylic. I am constantly driven with so much inspiration and never tire of working and planning what to paint next.
